Our canine friends are welcome on the ground floor and in the café as well as in the grounds. Please do keep dogs on a lead at all times - thank you.

Hay Castle Pass

What is the pass?

The Hay Castle Pass is a card that gives unlimited free entry for those who live within a 10-mile radius of the castle.

There is a £5 admin charge to cover the costs of the card.

How do I apply?

Click on the PASS image below to see if you live within 10 miles.

You will be asked to provide some proof of address when you come to pick it up.

Visitor Information

We are open every day between 10am and 5pm - last entry at 4.30pm. We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

In the New Year we will be closing at 4pm until half term.

The Café will be closed all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day

We will also be closed between 13-16 Jan for maintenance


There is a large public carpark off Oxford Road which charges £4 for the day

The car park also has free charging points for electric vehicles.

Accessibility

The lift gives access to all floors apart from the cellar (the film in the cellar is also on iPads in the Reading Room).

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor near the café and a further one on the first floor.

Disabled Parking

There is no parking at the Castle itself but you can park in the disabled bays at the top of the carpark in Oxford Road and there is level access across the zebra crossing and up our drive which has ramped access to the castle.
